RELIGIOUS SCHOOL NEWS: The students and teachers are
currently enjoying their summer vacations. I want to wish Holly Price, one
of our teachers a Tseithem L'Shalom
as she travels to I am busy making curricular changes
for next year. We will be introducing a new piece to
the curriculum for grades 3-5. The curriculum is called the Chai Curriculum. It bases itself on teaching the
students three core subjects: Torah, Avodah
(worship to G-d), and Gimilut Hasadim (acts of loving
kindness). The students will also study Hebrew and prayer. We have
also added some new topics for the Hebrew High school as well. The
students will be learning about Israel, Jewish history, current events,
learning to be classroom aides, learning about the movements in Judaism and
the major world religions. They will also be working on a newspaper and
a yearbook developing tzedekah projects. In grades 6 and 7 (there will be a)
great emphasis will be placed upon learning Hebrew and the prayers associated
with becoming a Bar and Bat Mitzvah. On Wednesdays, our school is
entitled Camp TBI. We will be featuring "classrooms without
walls". Students will experience Israeli culture, history, society,
and Jewish life, as well as participate in holiday experiences and develop tzedekkah projects. If you have any questions about
